Notes for GEORGE WASHINGTON BEARDEN:
George Washington Bearden was about 4 years old when his father, Emsley, rode off to fight in the Confederate Army. He remembered peeking through a knot hole in the wall and watching until his father rode out of sight.
When George was young man he made whiskey for the government. All the ingredients were furnished by the government and the finished product was picked up once a month by federal men. George was also a good farmer and when Twin Tree Company moved into Perry or Chilton Co., he went to work for them.
